Caleb had finally found the one he wanted to spend his life with. He knew that now and knew that a month and a half ago when he had been forced to leave her behind in Florida to return to Cape May. From the minute he stepped on that plane, he had known he wanted to ask her to marry him. He had faith that their long-distance relationship would work out and he would be getting down on one knee to ask her to marry him. In his head, he was planning that now. He wanted to ask her right then, but wanted to do it right with the ring he had picked out and when she wasn't expecting it. Since he had already asked her to move in with him after she had already moved from Florida up to Cape May, he thought that was enough for one night so he wouldn't completely overwhelm her at once with everything. This was it for him. No one else could ever have his heart like she did, which was cliche in a sense, but he didn't care. Alyzia was the one woman who he felt like this for and he loved her.
When she said that she had a room booked at La Mer and had planned on staying there until she found a place, but said she could check out with a smile on her face, Caleb lit up and kissed her again. "We can just go get your things and bring them home," he said after breaking their kiss, grinning at her brightly as he moved his hands to either side of her face to cradle it, kissing her lips tenderly again. This was probably the best moment of his life so far, right next to the day he and Lyzi met a few months back, but he knew that the best was yet to come when he gave her the ring and proposed to her. "Whenever you're ready, we can go," he said softly, seeing the sun had set over the water and it was getting dark.

Alyzia was very happy; happier than she thought she'd be. Caleb was in her arms and kissing her like she should be kissed. She practically melted when Caleb said they could bring her stuff home. Home. It had been a long time since Alyzia could call a place home. She didn't expect Caleb to ask her to move in, but she liked that he did. It was like she was taking the next step in their relationship, the step they couldn't take while they were in Florida. There was another step that Alyzia had every intention of taking, tonight if possible. It was one that she had been terrified to take, but after Caleb's plane took off, she regretted not taking it.
"That sounds perfect," she said, once again resting her head on his chest. She watched the sun disappear behind the ocean, and then she laced her fingers with his. His hand felt the same as it did back in Florida, and it still sent shock waves through her body. "I would like to change my clothes first. I got drenched at work." Well, that wasn't completely true. She got a little wet at work from the sea lions, but she had a really nice set of unmentionables that a friend had helped her pick out before she left that she really wanted to wear for Caleb.

Caleb knew that his parents would love Alyzia, as would his sisters, especially Corrine. He knew that she would be happy that he had found someone since she had always told him that he needed to get out into the world instead of confining himself to taking care of their family so much. But, that was part of being both the oldest and only brother with two younger sisters. While he knew that Corrine had her life together for the most part, their baby sister Catelyn needed to seriously find direction. She was twenty-five-years-old, not sixteen anymore, and Caleb could only protect her so much. And now that he was starting his own life with someone else, he knew that he wouldn't be there for her to lean on as much as he once was. His focus would be on Alyzia and the life that they would build together. Now that she was here to stay with him, he knew that he wanted to start that life with her as soon as they could.
When she said that the plan sounded perfect, he smiled and held her close as the last few rays of daylight disappeared behind the horizon on the water. Caleb nodded as Lyzi mentioned she wanted to change her clothes since she'd gotten drenched at work, knowing that getting wet happened frequently when working with sea animals. "We can go pick your stuff up from the hotel, you can change there, and then we can head home," he said, smiling at her. "I brought my truck, so we can ride over there right now." Feeling her fingers laced with his, he lead her over the sand to where he had parked his truck, opening her door for her before getting in on his side. He started up the engine and took off toward the hotel, looking over at her. "You have no idea how happy I am to have you here with me," he said, smiling at her.

"Home," she repeated, smiling. She followed him to where he'd parked his truck and lifted herself into the passenger seat, smiling to herself when he'd opened the door for her. Once Caleb was in the driver's seat, Alyzia let her hand fall into his again, feeling his calloused skin against her own soft skin. It was the perfect contrast of rough and gentle, the way his skin felt as it carefully touched her.
It didn't take long at all to get to the hotel, but it made sense to drive his truck to it, since she'd have to follow him in her rented car anyway. "I bet you didn't expect that," she said, smiling coyly at him, as she pointed out the hotel parking lot and where her car was parked. "I still can't believe I'm here, with you. For good."

The thought that Alyzia was here with him for good was still sinking into Caleb's mind as he drove his truck into the parking lot of the hotel where Lyzi was staying. He hadn't expected this in a million years, but was more than happy that it was happening to them right now. Hearing her say she was betting he hadn't expected her to be there with him, he smiled and looked at her shaking his head. "Not for a while longer at least," he said. In his mind, he had planned to move down to Florida with her as soon as he was able to put in for a transfer, but that had not happened yet since his unit needed him to stay in Cape May to train some of the new recruits. That was something he hadn't told her because he wanted to surprise her by transferring, but she had beat him to the punch.
As she pointed out her rented car, he parked beside it and looked at her. "I am starting to believe it since you're not disappearing on me and I'm not waking up no matter how many time I pinch myself," he said, laughing and leaning over to kiss her. One of his hands was gently placed on her cheek as his lips met hers. It felt like the first time they kissed in Florida after their first real date on the beach. That would be one night Caleb never forgot so long as he lived. Caleb hadn't been this happy in a long time, but now he was. He had the woman of his dreams there with him and he was perfectly content. Life had finally started to go right for the first time in a long time. "Are you following me in your car or are we just taking my truck?" he asked, leaning back from their kiss.

Kissing Caleb felt like something Alyzia was born for. She was meant to do it. And it always created amazing feelings inside her. She knew she wanted him, and she knew he wanted her. And she was finally going to give him that, even if she had a hard time telling him those things. "You don't have to wake up," Alyzia said softly when he broke the kiss. She could hear the amount of emotion in her voice and she cleared her throat, hoping to hide it. She knew she didn't have to with him, she knew she could be herself, but by this point in her life it was force of habit. She'd never been one to wear her heart on her sleeve, and she had been sure to let Caleb know that. And that made everything she said mean that much more.
She sighed when he asked if she was going to follow him or just ride in his truck. She turned her head and looked out the window at her car, knowing she'd need it in the morning to return to the zoo. "Logically, following you seems to make the most sense." She had to be there early, and she didn't want to have to wake him up so he could drive her to the hotel to pick up her car, and then have to back track all the way to the zoo. It didn't make much sense. "So I'll follow you. Keeps up the mystery anyway." She smiled, opening the door and slipping out. She pulled out the room key. Most of her stuff was in her car; it was just a small bag that was in the room from when she showered after getting in.

Caleb smiled when Alyzia said that he didn't have to wake up. This was his dream come true and he knew that he would never have to wake up from it because she would be there everyday. Hearing the emotion in her voice, Caleb knew that she really meant it. He knew that she wasn't the kind of person that vocalized her emotions very well, so he had picked up on her little ques that she left, which made everything that much more meaningful to him when she did say little things here and there that were a bit more revealing of herself. Caleb considered himself to be emotionally guarded as well, but he had opened up more with Lyzi than he had ever had with anyone else before. She knew things about him that no one else, not even his parents or sisters, knew. That made their relationship priceless and precious to him. He loved her more than life itself.
When she said that she would follow him back in her own car because it would make more sense, he nodded and grinned after she added the bit about mystery. He waited as she slipped out of the car and went to her room to retreive what she had there before she went to her car. When she was ready, Caleb backed up and drove out of the parking lot with Alyzia following him back to his place. He drove through downtown Cape May and to his neighborhood, turning onto his street and driving down to his house. Once there, he parked and left room in the driveway for her to park next to him before cutting the engine and getting out of his truck to walk over to the driver's side of her car. "Welcome home," he said, grinning and kissing her.

Alyzia unlocked the door to her room and flicked on the light, seeing her bag sitting on the bed. It was a small room, just one bed, but it was all she needed for herself. She went over and dug through the bag, finding the clothes she wanted and pulled them out before stripping out of the ones she was currently wearing. The undergarment she put on wasn't as comfortable as what she had been wearing, but it wasn't so uncomfortable that she couldn't wear it. Besides, the design and color made her look like she was glowing. She looked at herself in the bureau mirror before she pulled a clean shirt on over her torso, and pulled a clean, tighter pair of jeans on. She replaced her sneakers and socks with a pair of heels. Alyzia stuffed the other clothes back in her bag and went into the bathroom, pulling her toiletries out and stuffed them in the bag as well, before leaving the room, closing the door behind her.\
She flashed a one second sign to Caleb and ran to the office, handing in her key and thanking them for the room, but she wouldn't be needing it. She paid for the remainder of the night and left the office, going back to her car. She tossed her bag in and climbed in, then followed Caleb back to his place. Once there, she barely got a chance to open the door before she was in Caleb's arms again as he welcomed her home. She smiled and returned the kiss, placing her hands on his pectorals. "Its good to be home," she said, her eyes finding his, despite the darkness.

Standing there in front of Alyzia, Caleb hadn't felt so happy in a long time. This was the best he had felt since he was in Florida with her. He could sense that this was right and that they were meant to be together like this. Hearing her voice say that it was good to be home, Caleb smiled and found her hands on his chest, taking them in his own. "This is home now that we are together," he said softly, kissing her lips once and smiling. He knew that a house was just that...a house. What made it a home was the people inside and family. Alyzia was the woman he wanted to share that with. She wad that woman for him. At thirty, he had found what he had been looking for all along.
Taking her hand, he gently moved her away from the car and shut the door before moving toward the back seat to get some of her stuff. "We can bring some of your stuff in tonight and get the rest tomorrow when it's light outside," he said, grinning at her. He knew that his place wasn't big, but it was a good start for them to have together as a couple. He knew that he wanted to eventually move into a bigger house, when they were married and starting a family. He knew that he wanted to have that family with her. Caleb loved her and was certain of his future with her.

Alyzia laced her fingers with Caleb's when his hands found hers on his chest. He felt so good there, so right. She knew it was right; she'd always known that she was going to spend the rest of her life with him. She smiled when he said that home was them together. Sometimes Caleb said the corniest things Alyzia had ever heard. But she adored them. She loved Caleb, and that's what made those silly things he said matter. Even if she couldn't tell Caleb she loved him.
When he released her and grabbed some of her things from the back, Alyzia made a motion to grab some more, but Caleb stopped her, saying they could get the rest tomorrow. She smiled. "That's a good idea." She didn't have any furniture or anything; everything that was in her car were her clothes and personal items. She figured she could get new furniture when she got settled in. "Besides, I have some things I want to show you."

Caleb was loving the idea that Alyzia was here to stay with him forever. He never wanted to lose her again the way he had when he left Florida. That was not something he would go through again and come out alive on the other side of. He had never felt like this for another person before, so everything was new and exciting to him. When she agreed to getting the rest of the stuff in the morning, he smiled. His grin grew wider when she said that she had some things to show him. Leaning over, he kissed her once and grinned. "Is that so?" he asked devilishly, giving her the infamous half-smile she could not resist. That had been one of the first thing she noticed about him that she told him. He knew that the first thing he'd noticed about her were her eyes. Those unmistakable, piercing blue that could make a man go weak at the knees.
Taking her things up to the door, he unlocked the dead-bolt and bottom lock before pushing it open. Once inside, he shut the door behind them and set her stuff down before turning to face her. "It's not much, but it's home," he said, walking over to her and pulling her in for a kiss. "And we can always buy a bigger house later." Caleb already knew where he wanted to take her to show her houses that were bigger in Cape May, but that would be later when they were settled and had some time to themselves. For now, he only wanted to be with her. He loved her and had missed her so much. Nothing would ever separate them again the way work had when he left.

Alyzia stepped inside, taking the interior of her new home in. It was small, but comfortable. She smiled. "I don't take up much room," she said, taking a few more steps in. She liked it, actually. It seemed more like the apartment she just moved from, and that made her feel like she'd always been there. "I just need a minute." she said, and gave Caleb a kiss on the cheek.
Stepping through the living area to the small hallway, she opened the first door. She was right, it was the bathroom. Alyzia closed the door behind her and she looked at herself in the mirror, scrunching up her hair where necessary, and adjusting her breasts to fill the top out more. "Alright, Alyzia," she said to her reflection. "Time to grow up." She was going to give Caleb everything tonight. Including herself.
